Correcting deficiencies, balancing meals, improving blood sugar regulation and decreasing inflammation can be particularly helpful.  The relationship between diet and mental health is also the main focus of Dr. Aucoin's research work. Supplementation – A number of nutrient are well researched for their anti-depressant and anti-anxiety actions.  Often these nutritional supplements act by correcting underlying deficiencies.   Herbal Medicine – Numerous herbs are known to act on the brain, nerves and adrenal glands to help restore balance, decrease anxiety symptoms and improve mood. This component of the treatment plan works quickly to improve symptoms while we work on diet and lifestyle strategies. Homeopathy – Homeopathy is a gentle form of treatment that has a balancing effect on the body by stimulating the body’s own healing capacity. The is extensive evidence to support the use of mindfulness strategies in promoting mental wellbeing. Lifestyle Modification – Sleep, stress, technology use and exercise are all modifiable factors that can influence mental health tremendously. Changing behaviours can be challenging, but with support and guidance in using established behaviour change techniques, it is possible.</image:caption>
